Nehru's Story

Career Summary:

Being a Corporate breed, with 37 years of project management expertise, he had developed and managed quite a number of initiatives in various medium/large size organizations. Mr. Nehru is also well known for his unique deadline management
techniques, evidenced by his 4 continuous years of 100% Corporate KPI accomplishment. Having managed many high-profile projects internationally, he is at present the Chief Success Coach of Project Leadership Academy.

 

A very passionate Project Management, Procurement and Ethics Specialist, who also provides awareness on these topics to the industry and to grow the industry, through his past experience and role as a Director at Project Management Institute (PMI) Malaysia Chapter.


Well known for his fun and humorous way of conducting training, he creates EXCITEMENT in his training through various TEAM BUILDING activities that improves the human behavior in an organization, through experiential training.


Training Experience:
Mr. Nehru is a well-known success coach and trainer, having trained more than 47,000 professionals in successful project management and execution, project leadership and team building. His trademark trainings include topics on Procurement Management, Ethics and Governance, Body Language, Managing Deadline, Project Management Workshop Series, Project Management Essentials, PMP Bootcamp, among many others.


Professional Background:
He started out his career as a Systems Engineer supporting a well-known relational database for the Asia-Pacific region, and rose to the position to manage several key national ICT projects, such as Belanjawan (National Budget system) for Ministry of Finance [RM8 million], Malaysian Road Records Information System for Ministry of Finance [1 million], Housing Loan System for Ministry of Finance, Payroll System (PEMA) for Ministry of Defense and many others. He then moved on to Hong Kong to manage several large projects for The Walt Disney Company (Asia Pacific).


His other large projects includes the implementation of Collection System for Housing Development Board (HDB, Singapore) [SGD10 million], managing Quality and testing for Singapore Civil Defence Force and Land Transport Authority, Singapore, Customer Services Portal for Digi [4 million], Implementation of national Smart School for Telekom Smart School [RM10.25 million], initial setting up Biotechnology industry in Malaysia, Unified Communication System, ICT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Management [Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation] was among the other successful prestigious projects that he had managed, in addition to several other medium/small size projects. His last corporate assignment was as the Head of PMO / Vice President 1 at Bank Pembangunan Malaysia.


Personal:
Mr Nehru is involved in various social related activities and organizes various social related programmes. He has passion for fast-paced activities such as car-races, and he enjoys go-karting. He believes the best way to build networks is over a good
cup of coffee.
